Winery Gattinger – where the Wachau becomes personal
The family-run winery in the heart of the Wachau region combines traditional craftsmanship with modern cellar technology and produces elegant white wines as well as rosé and red wines of the highest quality.
Wines and Vineyards
Our 4.5 hectares of vineyards are located in the best sites in the Wachau region—around 80 percent of them on hillsides. They are planted on historic stone terraces that are cultivated and maintained exclusively by our family. Care, patience, and consistent manual labor are what count here. Because we want to produce wines that impress with their inner strength and bring joy both in everyday life and on special occasions. Our three wine categories—Steinfeder, Federspiel, and Smaragd—are classifications of the Vinea Wachau and stand for honesty, origin, and down-to-earthness. Made for people who appreciate true authenticity.
History and Craftsmanship
It all began with Adolf and Krimhilde Gattinger. Adolf was cellarer at Josef Jamek—an icon of Wachau viticulture—for 44 years. Together, they elevated Wachau wine to an international cultural treasure. Their philosophy remains our benchmark to this day: wholesomeness over vanity. We uphold their traditional craftsmanship, both in the cellar and in the vineyard.
