Dear friends of Wachau wines!
The vegetation year 2023 has begun, and with it the first preparations in the vineyard.
The main work at the moment is the grapevine pruning, whereby the vines are cut back by hand so that new shoots can grow in spring.
The severed vines are taken out of the tensioned wires and collected in the tramlines between the rows of vines. These vines are then chopped up and used as fertilizer (hummus) for the soil.
Preparations for the main bottling date at the beginning of February are also in progress.
PS: the new vintage of Grüner Veltliner Federspiel 2022 and Rosé 2022 are now available.
